Synopsis: Sinners bathed in the Ganga to get rid of their sins. The sins thus cast off manifested themselves in the form of devils and worried Ganga. Lord Siva suggests to Ganga to seek the help of righteous wife. Parvathi, Lakshmi and Saraswathi console Ganga and try to help her but in vain. Narada takes Ganga to Anasuya, the wife of Athri Maharshi in Bhooloka. Anasuya with the force of her devotion to her husband relieves Ganga of her distress. The three Goddesses thus humiliated want to somehow or other spoil the good name of Anasuya. Parvathi instigates Bringeeswara and Nandeeswara to achieve this object. The both in the guise of Sanyasins go to Anasuya's Ashram at an inopportune time and ask for food. Anasuya is engrossed in serving her husband. Bringi gets angry and whirls a poisonous snake to coil round the neck of Anasuya who, however, turns it into a garland of flowers and wears it around her neck. Synopsis: Sri Lakshmi is the daughter of Musalappa Naidu, the village head of Durgi. Venkaiah Naidu hails from a rich agricultural family in the neighbouring village Lingalapuram. His elder brother, Subbaiah Naidu, is the village head. The marriage of Venkaiah with Sri Lakshmi is performed on condition that he stays at his father-in-law's house as illarikam   alludu. All is well till dancer Radha enters his life. Venkaiah deserts his wife and daughter and returns to Lingapuram. Sri Lakshmi too comes to live with her husband. When she refuses to perform the marriage of her daughter with her sister-in-law's son, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law torment her and poison Venkaiah's mind that she has an illicit relationship with the servant.
