Trivia: This was got second best film award at national awards. It had a 100-day run in 17 centers. NTR received president's award for amazing performance in three films, 'Lava Kusa', 'Narthanasala' and 'Karnan' (Tamil). 'Karnan' celebrated silver jubilee at the box-office.
'Narthanasala' has been screened in Jakartha International Film Festival. SV Ranga Rao won the best actor award and TVS Sharma won the best art director award. SVR was the first Telugu actor, got a foreign award.
SV Ranga Rao won the Filmfare Best Actor award (Telugu).
Dandamudi Rajgopal, who acted as Bheema, was participated twice in the Olympic Games in 1948 and 1956 in the filed of weightlifting. 
The song 'evvari kosam cheli mandahasam' was super hit, picturised on Sobhan and L. Vijaya Lakshmi.

Duryodhana is played by Dhulipaala.
