The shoot of the movie of both Telugu and Hindi versions started 1 August 1985 at Padmalaya Studios in front of thousands of fans of Krishna. In first shot, Akkineni Nageswara Rao has been given clap on Krishna, while Jalagam Vengala Rao, PCC president of that time, switched on the camera. For Hindi version Akkineni given clap on Jithendra, while Kona Prabhakara Rao, Governor of Maharashtra at that time, switched on the camera.
