Kalpana (1977)

Synopsis: Writer Raghuram (Muralimohan) rescues a girl named Kalpana (Jayachitra) who later claims to be his wife and forgets her past. He slowly falls in love with her. Once he sees her picture in a photo studio and starts enquiring about it, and he gets different answers from different people creating confusion about her. Her real identity is revealed only towards the end of the film.

Trivia: The film is a remake of super hit Hindi film Anamika (1973 - produced by Tahir Hussain and directed by Raghunath Jalani) with Jaya Badhuri doing the title role, while Sanjeev Kumar played the role of writer.
Nuthan Prasad was credited in the film with his original name (Varaprasad), though he changed his name to Nuthan Prasad two years before this film, when he acted in Muthyala Muggu.
The film was a decent hit, though it was naturally affected by Raghavendra Rao's own "bigger" blockbuster film, Adavi Ramudu which was released a week (on April 28, 1977) after the film Kalpana (on April 22, 1977)
